It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
